Service discovery

Registry with leases, heartbeats and watches that stream changes
In-memory store, JSON REST API and HTTP client
registry.KeepAlive registers on startup, renews the lease and deregisters on shutdown

Health checking

Active HTTP probes with failure and recovery thresholds
Unhealthy instances stop receiving traffic

Load balancing

Round-robin, random, smooth weighted round-robin and least-connections

Resilience

Closed, open and half-open circuit breaker per instance
Pluggable trip rules: consecutive failures or failure ratio
Failover to another instance for idempotent requests, with request bodies replayed
Last known instance list used if the registry is down

Client and gateway

Service-aware http.RoundTripper: call http://users/api/... with a normal http.Client
Reverse proxy routing /{service}/{path} to a healthy instance
Circuit-state endpoint on the gateway

Operations

One small binary configured by flags or environment variables

Quick Start

Clone the repository (needs Go 1.22 or later)

git clone https://github.com/tec-smith/microservices-orchestrator.git

Enter the project folder
```
cd microservices-orchestrator
```

Run the orchestrator and three echo services (uses Docker)
```
make demo
```

In another terminal, call a service through the gateway
```
curl localhost:8080/echo/hello
```
