Following up on the revitalization of my T2G developers home study course, I am pleased to announce that I passed my first ‘Tutor Marked Assessment’ (TMA) by 90% – with only two wrong answers disabling me from a total victory!

Even though you only need a pass rate of 70% to carry on to the next stage of the course, I felt that being a student moderator within the T2G online community and having already some rudimentary knowledge of the subject matter, that it would be only right for me to put in the extra hours to obtaining a decent grade to start me off…

At present I am fine tuning the three initial games I’ve had to make for that – now completed – section, in order for my tutors to add them to my student profile at their end so I can receive my next assignments and crack on with the course.

As usual I will add my three game creations to this site, once I’m happy for them to be used by others (lol).

Well, I’m not going to lie to you, it has certainly been a while since I made any effort to update this blog with my T2G course status or learning progression – so I thought I would type up some information while I’m not busy on other things…

To start with let me make it clear that I’ve recently moved from old accommodation to new pastures, and what with college and my ten week pre-access course hitting pretty much the same time as my initial Train2Game sign up date, I haven’t much in the way of progression – so far as to say that I haven’t taken many tutor mark assesments since signing up!

Now that’s out of the way,  let me tell you what I have been doing at T2G as well as supporting its vastly growing student base…

So many folk have now heard or are signed up to the T2G course, even a few of my college friends have heard about it, and as we know, news travels fast these days!

It’s really great to be part of something from its concept through to seeing it dominate adult home study. The community forum is thriving with new faces, and slowly the opposing arguments of the ever repeating “this is a scam” are fading away.

I’m now playing a more active role within the forums again, and also beginning to get back on track with actually studying the course material and putting in the TMA’s.

Of course, once I have completed this course the diploma will be a bonus on my final qualifications.

So, as I sit here now pondering what I will do next, I will open up the handbook and get to some revision efore I take my next TMA – wish me luck!

Stay curious for more info… Coming soon!

Today I enrolled into a games developer course with an industry recognised home study educator Train2Game. After receiving an advertising email in late march of this year regarding the courses available for wannabe future games developers, and the possible reward upon passing the course receiving an industry recognized diploma.

I’ll admit I was sceptical at first about the legitimacy of such claims. I took it upon myself to investigate the company and its affiliates – right down to the guys directly behind the concept and their places of work.
Of coarse there’s plenty of rumours floating around about companies that suddenly seem to appear from nowhere on to the world wide web and claim such awesome possibilities of earning such highly sought after career prospects and yearly salaries. Indeed it’s not hard to find the odd pissed off critic, or random black hat spam botter cruising the inbuilt site support community.

However, I took the plunge and registered the following month, in April, and began to get aquanted to some of the members, support staff and students. Having already had some experience within the field I began to try and guide those who were standard members, not students, the wanted to learn but didn’t have enough funds available to commit to the three year interest free payments.

Thanks to those whom I helped within this relativity new online community, as well as the management team behind the courses supplied by the company, I was soon made a forum moderator and (to quote) ‘Community Activist’.

Many weeks have past which brings us to this day, my enrolment day!

I decided after spending time among those with and without means to become a student within this amazing new revolution that is the Train2Game community of developers, artists and designers, that I should follow my instincts and jump in and give those who’ve doubts some facts about what it means to be a part of such a dedicated group of people.

I’m certain that this course will benefit me, and for the expense in time, and having an industry recognised diploma, as well as the satisfaction of sharing what I’ve learnt through university, coupled with real-life experiences with fellow developers within my field of work – of coarse it will be completely worth every damn penny!

Thanks for reading, and obviously you will hear more about this as I progress further and further to victory.
